Biz Kid$ is a national financial literacy initiative based on the Emmy Award-winning public television series where kids teach kids about money and business. Created by the producers of Bill Nye the Science Guy, the series has been in continuous play via PBS and national syndication since 2008. Its 71 episodes reach more than one million viewers around the world. Using a clever blend of entertainment and education, each episode shows kids how to make and manage money by introducing concepts of financial literacy and entrepreneurship via stories of real-life young entrepreneurs, sketch comedy, and money tips delivered by dynamic young hosts. What began as a public TV series has grown into a powerful digital brand that now includes books, an online course, generous educational resources, streaming video bundles, a six-figure Facebook following, and thousands of email subscribers.

Budgeting Basics
Students create an informational campaign pamphlet for other students in their school, to help them understand the importance of budgeting.
How Credit Affects Your Life
The students act as moneylenders by being given scenarios and characters, and having to decide whether or not to lend money.
Wheel of Misfortune
Students identify a list of financial misfortunes and map them on paper in the shape of a wheel. They then brainstorm a list of sound financial practices that can prevent or fix the misfortunes, also in the shape of a wheel.
Debt: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Students roll play borrowers, collection agencies, and credit counselors. They also create a budget and a spending journal, and track monthly expenditures to see how close they get to their budget.

How much does it cost to live on your own? More than you think! This episode takes you through it all – budgeting, roommates, finding a place, paying on time, and learning about all the hidden costs of being on your own.
Take it to the Bank
Get a kid’s view of the services which banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions offer – and why you should use them early in life. Learn the different products that banks offer, and how to shop for the right bank for you.
