First Nebraska Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. We offer many of the same services you find at other financial institutions, however we are motivated by service rather than profit.
At FNCU, our mission is “to provide professional services for the benefit of our members while reinforcing the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people.’” We exist to strengthen the financial well-being of our members.
We are owned and operated by our members – their credit union savings represents a “share” in the cooperative. The benefits of membership are returned to our members, with better rates and lower fees to provide significant savings! Members are insured by NCUA to at least $250,000 per account.
We are proud to be ranked in the top 100 four years in a row for “exceptional fiduciary responsibility” by DepositAccounts.com. This independent third party evaluates the financial health of every federally insured credit union in the United States (more than 5,700 total).
We currently serve more than 14,200 members, including 200 select employee groups and public school employees throughout the state of Nebraska. FNCU is the 6th largest credit union in Nebraska, with more than $135 million in assets. View our annual report.
