Elkhorn Parade

We helped sponsor Elkhorn Days and took part in the Elkhorn Parade on June 10.

The parade theme was “Be Legendary” so our slogan was, “Slam-dunk Service” and we handed out pens with basketballs and a hoop attached.

Thanks to Big O Auto for letting us borrow a truck to drive in the parade. To learn more, visit them at 6503 L Street in Omaha, or https://www.bigoautollc.com/

Managing a Loved One’s Money

scam

Millions of Americans manage money or property for a loved one who’s unable to pay bills or make financial decisions. If you are in this position, or may be in the future, there are some steps you can consider taking, in order to make that job easier. You may want to set up something informally, who just helps out occasionally as a financial caregiver, or you may need to set up a power of attorney or other formal type of financial caregiving.

To help understand all the different types of financial caregivers, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has easy-to-understand guides available on their website. Click here to view the guides.

Guides available are:

  • Power of Attorney
  • Court-appointed Guardians
  • Trustees
  • Government Fiduciaries
  • Informal Caregivers

Cancer Awareness

vacation money

In June, staff and members donated to the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center Patient and Family Assistance Fund, which helps local cancer patients and their families fund gas cards, meals or unmet housing needs during cancer treatment. FNCU matched the donations, and the total given was $752. Members who donated received a button to wear.

What our staff is saying

I’m proud of the work that First Nebraska does. I see how we help our members get the house or car they want, lower their monthly payments, and how our staff takes time to think of all the possible solutions to see what will help them best, financially. If I had to sum up what First Nebraska does, I’d say “Helping and Caring.”
